We are a club that focuses on Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA). The study, recreation and application of the long old knightly arts.
HEMA is equal parts sport and marital art, through study and application of historical manuscripts we recreate the old art of fencing. Longsword, Saber, Rapier, Sword and buckler, etc. HEMA has lots to offer to anyone interested |
Since most European martial traditions were lost as firearms became dominant, HEMA involves interpreting historical sources to reconstruct these arts. We rely on translations, context, and experimentation to revive techniques. |
